Peyton Place in my Neighborhood August 13, 2009

For the 2nd time in exactly two weeks the police have come because of our new neighbors. In this case, it seems the man is moving out and the women is preventing him from getting his things.
The tale began to unravel when – on a pizza run – ChessMan needed to stop off at the bank to get some cash. On his way he happened to see our new neighbor (female) snuggled up at our local fast food emporium with the guy who I thought was her older son.
How naive I am.
I thought it was her son, and there was some sort of tension between him and mom’s (new) boyfriend that eventually erupted in a physical altercation.
Apparently, this young guy is not her son. He is her ‘baby daddy’. This makes the arguments over the last few days a little more transparent. Esp. if she was moving in with guy #2, who didn’t necessarily want guy #1 on the scene.
Now it looks as though guy #2 is clearing out and called the police to gain peaceful access to the house to collect his belongings.
In the meantime, the kid screams, they argue, the police are called and – so we don’t get totally bored – the hammering and sawing continues…

Good lord…drama! Who knew! Hang in there…at the very least, you have a somewhat entertaining soap opera unfolding right next door. Hopefully things will quiet down there at some point before you and your beau move.
ha! fat chance… it’s now 11.53pm and the police just left – for the 2nd time TODAY.
that must be a new record in this little hamlet.
Oy vey, Trina. All I’m capable of in still-Sunday-morning.
YIKES! Payton Place…oh lord! Well maybe once “HE” gets his belongings, things will settle down. I know that stuff can wear on your nerves after awhile especially if the police have to keep showing up.
Keep the faith!
@susan + @lovebabz
things have been relatively quiet in the last few days. the 2nd guy has not been back that i have seen. found out that the ‘baby daddy’ has just got out of jail (though i have to admit he has always been quiet polite). but their dogs still have free reign in the shared areas, which makes us have to keep our dogs inside. the noise level is still quite high, and the shouting/screaming wears on my nerves.
so, as of october 1, we will be in new digs. idyllic, refurbished farmhouse.
more on that later….
